Our Mission: Supporting Adolescent Girls and Young Mothers in Rwanda

At Komera Initiative, we believe in creating lasting community change by providing critical resources to vulnerable youth. Through our targeted education programs, health advocacy, and leadership training, we actively empower adolescent girls and young mothers to overcome challenges, gain financial independence, and build brighter, sustainable futures.

Education Support & Leadership

We provide education scholarships, school materials, and academic mentoring to keep adolescent girls and young mothers in school. Alongside their studies, our leadership programs build the confidence, voice, and critical thinking skills they need to become active changemakers.

Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

We offer safe spaces, counseling, and peer support groups to help adolescent girls and young mothers heal from trauma, manage stress, and build emotional resilience. Mental wellness is foundational to their growth, giving them the emotional strength to pursue their goals.

Entrepreneurship & Financial Independence

We provide business skills training, micro-grants, and savings group support to help young mothers launch sustainable small businesses. By gaining financial literacy and income-generating tools, they break the cycle of poverty and confidently provide for their families.

Our Two-Year Foundation Empowering Young Mothers

For the past two years, the Komera Initiative has been quietly laying a deep foundational footprint directly on the ground in Rwanda. Even while operating without formal financial capabilities or outside funding, our team has dedicated this time to building deep personal trust with local families and mapping out the most critical resource gaps. We have spent this time standing alongside adolescent girls and young mothers, ensuring they are no longer completely isolated.

Having established this local presence over the last two years, we are now actively preparing to elevate our grassroots support into structured, long-term programs. We are focusing on complete operational transparency from day one as we seek our very first foundational investments and outside donor partnerships. Every bit of community experience we have gathered so far ensures that our upcoming initial funding will be used efficiently to create a direct, transparent, and life-changing impact.
